Studs, Easy-outs and Torque wrenches

Update from From Roger Bray

Some recent work on 45132 included the removing of Cylinder heads from their blocks and discovering at least 3 broken mounting studs, all of which were broken bellow flush with the cylinder block (because breaking above flush would have made it too easy for us).

One stud was removed by the use of an "Easy-out" device which essentially has an opposing threaded body that buries itself into the stud and once it has sank as far in as it can go, it will start to unwind the stud from the casing. The remaining two studs however, required the use of a "Die-grinder" and removing as much of the internal metal of the stud as possible before picking out the remaining "spring like" threaded outer layer of the studs.

New studs were screwed in place and the cylinder heads were replaced and secured by eight cylinder head nuts (per head), with thanks going to the EOR p-way (permanent way) department for allowing us to use their five-foot long torque wrench (thank you Barry Monk).

After that was done, some other bits could be done such as the reconnecting of the fuel leak-off banjo bolts, pipes and valve gear (rockers, lubrication pipes and push rods), all of which took place over several weekends.

I would like to thank everyone that has helped and put in what time they could to assist with 132 and thanks to the EOR for allowing us the use of their facilities.

There is a never ending amount of work being done behind the scenes, which include raising funds and boosting the profile of 45132 at every opportunity given, this is done through our sales stand at events and model shows, through all of you who have shared our website and Facebook group and not forgetting all of you who have donated to and spread the news of our newly founded GofundMe page (https://gofund.me/212e44e7), it all helps in getting 45132 back up and running again, so thank you very much!

On another note, does anyone know of (or have) storage facilities/land where we would be able to store some of our spare parts (some of which are rather large) if you do, then please let us know.
