Some recent work on 45132 has included cutting out small sections of body panelling that had
succumbed to the elements and in their place, new pieces of steel welded on to give better
protection to the frame and hopefully maintain a good external look (once blended in of course).

As can be seen by this photo, the framework underneath, while looking rather rusty, is still in fairly good shape. While this work was being carried out, it was found that at some point in its' life with BR, a repair was made to this section,
however the plate of steel used (which we are now replacing) may have arrived at the maintenance facility with pre drilled holes for the bolts, as these didn't match up with the original holes found on the framework
underneath, however this will be corrected
when our work is finished.

Some work was also carried out on the inside of 45132 on our last visit, the bed pan area for the main generator was uncovered and cleaned up to give us an idea of its' condition, the resting plates were also cleaned of old grease and new grease applied, this also included the connecting wheel on the transfer shaft from the engine that will connect to the generator once back in position (excuse the terms, I'm not a mechanic lol).

As you can see, without the main generator 45132 is looking rather empty (except for the pots and bits, which are all important components needed to reinstall the main generator), this is where we could use your help, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help us raise some money for the repair work needed to get the generator back where it belongs!
